Arbitraza III

Managing Partner at the law firm “Jovović, Mugoša & Vuković”, attorney Vanja Mugoša, was, alongside Jasminka Čorda Truhar, partner at the law firm Hanžeković & Partneri Zagreb, and Mr. Vlatko Mihajlov, MSc, a civil engineer and Chartered Quantity Surveyor, a panelist at the Third Montenegrin Arbitration Day on the topic “Arbitration in Construction Disputes”, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro on November 6.

Speaking from the perspective of court practice and the practice of the Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, Vanja Mugoša shared experiences in resolving construction disputes, highlighting the differences between court and arbitration proceedings. He emphasized that arbitration offers significant advantages over litigation, primarily due to the parties’ ability to choose arbitrators who will decide their dispute, which enables more expert, faster, and more efficient decision-making.

He also noted that while the idea of arbitration is for arbitrators to deliver expert, swift, and efficient decisions, it may be worth reconsidering the level of administrative costs prescribed by the tariff in order to make arbitration even more accessible.
