Energy law governs energy activities, regulate terms and conditions for carrying out of those activities in order to ensure quality and safe energy supply to final customers as well as to incentive electricity generation from renewable sources and high-efficiency cogeneration, procedure for organization and management of the electricity and gas market as well as other matters of relevance for the energy sector.

In terms of the law, energy activities are as follows: generation of electricity; transmission of electricity; distribution of electricity; supply of electricity; organization and management of electricity market; storage of gas; transmission of gas; distribution of gas; supply of gas; organization and management of gas market; transport of oil through oil pipelines and other means of oil transport that are not regulated with a separate regulation; transport of petroleum products through product pipelines; transport of petroleum products by means of transport, apart from product pipelines; wholesale in petroleum products; retail trade in petroleum products; storage of oil and petroleum products; production of heat energy for district heating and/or cooling; distribution of heat energy for district heating and/or cooling; supply of heat energy for district heating and/or cooling; trading, mediation and representation activities on the energy market, which have not been governed by a separate ordinance; transport and storage of liquefied natural gas (LNG); operation of LNG facility; operation of liquefied petroleum gas facility (LPG); wholesale and supply of LNG to final customers; combined generation of electrical and heat energy; production of biofuels and bio-liquids; transport of biofuels and bio-liquids; wholesale in biofuels and bio-liquids; retail trade in biofuels and bio-liquids; storage of biofuels and bio-liquids.

The practice of energy law includes contracts for siting, extraction, licenses for the acquisition and ownership rights in oil and gas both under the soil before discovery and after its capture, and adjudication regarding those rights.

We provide general advisory services with respect to compliance of law and regulations, concession, licenses and permits, privatization, service contracts and representation before the competent national administrations.
